Titanic Sinks

On the 15th of April 1912, the Titanic was going on it's maiden voyage.

The Titanic had a captain called Edward John Smith. Captain Edward was going to retire from travelling from one place to another by ship. Edward J. Smith had 37 years as a captain and 50 years at sea. Captain Edward was White Star Line's most experienced officer. He was also known as the millionare's captain. Captain Edward had a lot to feel happy about.

First Class passengers got to have a gymnasium, squash court , swimming pool and Turkish bathrooms. Passengers in first class had to pay a lot of money like $400.00. First class had the most fanciest rooms. First class had an enormous grand stair case.

The Titanic hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. The iceberg was so huge. The ship had a hull in the back and the Titanic started breaking into two. The other half started   sinking at the same time as the other one. Passengers hopped into lifeboats. There were not that many lifeboats so lots of people died. There were 710 survivors and 1,517 people died.

The Titanic is going on it's maiden voyage
I hope you enjoyed my  information  report  about  the  Titanic.

My Year In Review 2014

This is me!
At the start of the year I felt scared because I had bad thoughts about my teacher being so scary!

The learning goals I had achieved this year is running for long distances, writing more detail in my writing , learning
my times tables, improving on my art and learning maths.
Some cool art

Friendships I have made this year have been with Ngahoa because she is never ever bossy to me and Carmen because she is never mean to me.

My favourite activity is art because you can use your imagination and science because
you get to learn new stuff!

The biggest challenge for me was cross country because you had to run for a long distance….. but I came third overall!

My academic goals for next year will be writing creative stories!

Behavioural goals for next year will be always staying good and never being mean!

Our Fabulous Assembly

On a fantastic Thursday, when the sun was shining, and the bell rang, Room 11 ran up to the hall for our fabulous  assembly. As I ran up to the hall, I felt really shy.
The moment the audience came in through the doors and sat down in their spots I became nervous!

The presenters stood up and I'm sure they felt very nervous too. The presenters were Leilani and Henley.  Leilani said, "We would like to share some poems with you".  Our first poem was "I wish", the second one was "Library Day" and the last one was "Grossil." When I read the poems I felt really happy.

Shortly after that, Room11 sang a song called, "Don't say goodbye" by Sammy Johnson. As I sang the song I felt confident.

Suddenly Miss Pesaleli, Ty and Carmen handed out the certificates to the students who had been caught being good. It was really exciting.

Afterwards, me and Sonny Bull had to read our stories to the audience. I felt very happy.

Next Miss Zeier handed out the caught being goods.

For our last item we did a dance called, "Wild, wild love."

Finally, Sativalee handed the best class trophy to Room 17.

Then the audience and Room 11 sang songs with Ms Bird.

It was Room 11's best assembly ever!

A Wonderful Time At Rainbow's End

On the 19th of July my aunty Selau and my uncle Kosane took me, my sisters and my little brother Denzel to Rainbow's end. My aunty Selau had to pay 50 dollars!
As we walked inside, a lady put a yellow bracelet on me, my sister Danielle and my uncle Kosane while my aunty Selau took my sister Katherine and my brother Denzel to the Kids kingdom.
After we got our yellow bracelets, my uncle Kosane took me and Danielle to the roller coster. There was a long line. Soon, it was our turn. We sat in the back carriage because that's the one that goes really fast. It was fun!
Afterwards, my aunty Selau bought chips for all of us. The
chips were so yummy.
Next my uncle Kosane took me and Danielle to the Stratosphere. As it was our
turn, we sat on the number 22 seat. Suddenly, the ride was about to start! As it started rotating, it felt like I could see the whole world. Next, we went on the fearfall. At first it was good, after a moment it got scary but I stayed calm.
When it was the end of the day, we went to KFC for dinner. We bought a drink, chicken, gravy, salad and four kids meals. Finally, we went home for a sleep. It was the best day ever!

May the luck of the Irish be with you all!!

Last term we studied other cultures! This year our syndicate did loads of inquiry into the beautiful country of Ireland and fantastic St Patricks Day celebrations! The Irish have some fantastic myths and legends! They even have their own version of the classical Cinderella story!! Here are a few pictures!

JAM BUS! Mobile Recording Studio!

Here are some pictures of our special recording session we had with the JAM Bus mobile recording studio! Room 11 practised a part instrumental song called, "Everybody loves Saturday night". We created some of the lyrics and decided what beats, instruments and arrangement we were going to use on the day of recording! On the day we recorded, it was blustery, cold and rainy BUT the weather didn't dampen our excitement! We had loads of fun and were lucky enough to receive a cd of our and other classes recorded songs! Thanks Jam Bus!
It was exciting seeing all of the recording equipment!

The Glokenspiel group! Smile Carmen! Smile Hariata and Salarina!

Ty, Luti and Xeria getting ready to sing into their very own microphone!

Awesome effort Room 11! We sounded great!

Here are the lyrics to a couple of verses we sang!

"EVERYBODY LOVES SATURDAY NIGHT
EVERYBODY LOVES SATURDAY NIGHT...
EVERYBODY (X4)
EVERYBODY LOVES SATURDAY NIGHT"

"EVERYBODY LOVES COMING TO SCHOOL
(echo: to read, to write, to make us all bright)
EVERYBODY LOVES COMING TO SCHOOL
(echo: learning today and leading tomorrow)
EVERYBODY (X4)
EVERYBODY LOVES COMING TO SCHOOL"

The Awesome Manukau Cinema by Salarina

On Tuesday, my aunty Selau took me and my sisters to the Manukau Cinema. We went there because we wanted to see the Lego movie. Meanwhile, we all jumped in my uncle Kosane's van. While my aunty Selau drove us all the way to Manukau Cinema, me and my sisters were very excited because it was our first time. Soon, we went to find a car park to park. Then we went inside to get our popcorn and drinks, and we went into cinema eight to watch Lego movie. When we got in there my sisters were too excited but I was very calm. Suddenly, the movie started. In the movie there was a guy called Emmet and a girl called Wild Style. They are very funny. When the movie finished we all went home. When we got home me and my sisters were very sad it was over! I had lots of fun at the Cinema.
